1,000 Kids Get Free Meal At Easter Party

CHILDREN at Ash Town and other suburbs of Kumasi marked this year’s Easter festivities in a grand style.

Berndt Luther Foundation, the Ash Town-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) headed by Berndt Owusu, threw a mega party for them.

This year’s party was outstanding as there were food in abundance to serve the over 1,000 invited children.

Speaking to the media, Berndt Owusu said he had been organizing such annual parties for kids in the area for more than 10 years now, and would continue doing so for as long as it takes.

He said his motive was to ensure that children in Ash Town also marked the Easter festival like any other children.

Aside the food and drinks, the NGO also donated clothing, toffees and other items to the seemingly elated-kids.

Oscar Osei Acheampong, Secretary of the NGO, also disclosed that the organization spent some GH¢150,000 on the event.

He said the Foundation had also sponsored some children in the area to be in school.
