Accra Hearts of Oak lost 2-1 to Inter Allies in a friendly game at the Tema Stadium. Hearts of Oak who are celebrating their 107th birthday could not cap it off with a win.
Inter Allies were more determined to spoil Hearts’ anniversary as they took the lead in the 12th minute through Alex Aso.
They almost doubled their lead on the 15th-minute mark as Victorien Adebayor’s effort was tipped over the bar by Hearts goalkeeper Ernest Sowah.
In the 35th minute, Hearts nearly drew level as Malik Akowuah’s shot was brilliantly saved by Inter Allies goalkeeper Saed Salfu.
Inter Allies started the second half and made some changes but had to wait until the 68th minute to double their lead.
Nigerien forward Victorien Adje Adebayor made it 2-0 to Inter Allies as Hearts were in deep trouble.
They pushed forward to reduce the deficit and finally got a goal in the 75th minute through Tony Quayson. Inter held on as the game ended 2-1 in full time..
