As part of activities marking this year’s independence celebration, female Gospel artiste, Celestine Donkor will on Monday, March 6 host a number of her colleagues at her yearly Celestial Praiz scheduled for the Oil Dome, Royal House Chapel International, Accra.
Even though the 2020 VGMA Female Vocalist of the Year is yet to officially announce details of the programme, she has started whetting the appetite of her followers by posting fliers of the show on her social media pages.
This year’s event marks the 10th edition of Celestial Praiz which started in 2010. It is the 10th edition because the event didn’t come off in 2013 due to the outbreak of Ebola in the sub-region and also in 2020 and 2021, following a ban on social gatherings to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
Thus to celebrate Celetial Praiz’s 10th anniversary, Celestine and her team, headed by her husband/manager, Kofi Donkor are positive about giving patrons a good show to mark the milestone.
“This is the 10th edition and I know guests will be looking out for something different. The team is ready and up to task to deliver on the day. There will be a media launch of the show next month to announce all the exciting things we are bringing on board this year,” said a team member.
Celestial Praiz has annually provided a stage for Gospel music lovers, ministers of God and Gospel musicians to have a fulfilled praise and worship time.
As the headline act, Celestine Donkor has consistently maintained her status as one of the most celebrated Ghanaian Gospel artistes with a catalogue her hits such as Agbebolo, Edem, Enyonyoge Kokooko, Elolo looo, Only You, Favour Everywhere among others.
At previous editions, Celestine has been joined on stage by acts including Uncle Ato, Cecilia Marfo, OJ, Cwesi Oteng, Cindy Thompson, Evangelist Lord Kenya, KODA, Selina Boateng, Joe Mettle, and Martin Hayford.
