2 cops in trouble over jail break

TWO SERVING policemen in Bekwai, in the Ashanti Region, are in big trouble after two inmates, reportedly, broke from jail.

The two under fire policemen have been identified as PW/LCPL Joyce Kwantwi and L/CPL Foster Agbokah, the police has said.

A police report sighted by The New Publisher, named the escapee suspects as Emmanuel Abakah, 24 and Nana Antwi, who is aged 22.

According to the police, they escaped from cells on March 5, 2021, at a time the two policemen were on official duty at the station.

The police administration has consequently tasked the two beleaguered policemen to produce the two escapees within 10 days time.

The police report indicated that around 6:20am on that day, a labourer was cleaning the cells, as two policemen strictly watched them.

Unknown to the two policemen and the labourer, the two inmates were planning to escape from lawful custody to have their freedom.

As the labourer was cleaning the cells, the inmates quickly pushed the metal gate and fled. The two escapees had since gone into hiding.
