TWO OUT of the 8 fire fighters who sustained injuries during a car crash have been treated and discharged.
Also, the six remaining fire personnel have since been hospitalized in the various hospitals within Obuasi.
DO3 Peter Addai, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO, said five of the six hospitalized people are in critical conditions.
He expressed hope that the critically injured personnel would recuperate in the coming days and resume work.
It would be recalled that a speeding fire tender, heading to a fire scene, crashed and somersaulted whilst on the way.
The driver of the vehicle, which was fully filled with water, had wanted to prevent a crash, but it didn’t work out.
“The driver was heading to a fire scene and they were eight personnel onboard the fire tender on Sunday morning.
“Upon reaching the Obuasi Stadium Junction, the driver saw that the road was partially blocked for construction works.
“The driver tried to prevent his car from running into people but his car veered off the road and somersaulted, instead”.
DO3 Addai disclosed that some Good Samaritans helped to rush the rescued people to the hospital for treatment.
