The Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta has stated that President Akufo-Addo has shaped the country positively in 32 months after winning the 2016 general election.
According to him, the president of the republic has redeemed “virtually all the pledges he made to the people of Ghana”.
Presenting the Financial Policy of the government for 2020 in Parliament on Wednesday, the Minister said economic growth has rebounded strongly from 3.4 per cent in 2016 to an average of over 7 per cent during the past 2 years.
Among the promises, he listed include the provision of access to secondary education to 1.2million Ghanaian students by 2020, the completion of 200 dams and the Planting for Food and Jobs programme which he said had benefited 1.9million people.
“Mr Speaker, I am proud to stand here and declare that the President has redeemed virtually all the pledges he made to the people of Ghana. Mr Speaker, the numbers indeed don’t lie and I have some numbers that make interesting reading…”. he said.
