The senior national female team, the Black Queens, have been preparing towards the AWCON coming up in less than 7 weeks.
General captain of the side, Leticia Zikpi says the target of the team is to win the tournament and qualify to the world cup.
The Immigration ladies midfielder admits the team has a herculean task ahead of them and they would need hard work and great effort to chalk success.
As one of the most experienced players in the team, Leticia is optimistic that with hard work they can make Ghana proud.
“I have been talking to my colleagues, trying to motivate them that we can make a name for ourselves and the country”.She told Kumasi based AshFm.
“Our prime target now is to win the African cup and qualify for the world cup in France.”
Coach Bashiru Hayford and his charges are currently in Kumasi and would be moving to the Central region on Monday to continue their nationwide tour to build up towards the 11th edition of the Women AFCON to be hosted by Ghana.
