2020 Not Done Deal for NDC – Asiedu Nketia
JOHNSON ASIEDU Nketiah, General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that winning the 2020 presidential elections is not guaranteed for his party.
He said even though the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been wobbling in its efforts to manage the economy, the largest opposition party (NDC) cannot count on the NPPs inefficiencies alone to wrest political power.
Asiedu Nketiah opined that, aside the woes of the ruling party, the NDC would have to work hard and campaign vigorously in order to dethrone what he called “the non-performing NPP administration, led by President Akufo-Addo”.
According to the NDC chief scribe, the party needs to unite as a family and strategize properly before members can think of forming the next government.
“We are all aware that the ruling NPP, despite promising more to the electorates ahead of the 2016 national elections, are struggling to fulfill their promises and better the lives of the citizenry since they assumed power.
“But let me caution NDC members that victory 2020 is not a done deal for the NDC therefore we should not be complacent by believing that because the NPP government is failing the NDC would easily win the 2020 polls”.
Asiedu Nketia, who was delivering an address during the Ashanti Regional NDC Constituency Youth Organizers Awards, held at the TUC in Kumasi on Sunday, appealed to the youth to work harder to make the party’s dream become a reality.
