3 Female Students Die in Car Crash
A GORY vehicular crash at Hwidiem, near Asante Akyem Agogo in the Ashanti region, has claimed the lives of six people, including three female students.
Two of the deceased students are from the Agogo Presbyterian Training College, whilst the third is from the Presbyterian University College, Agogo.
Reliable accounts from the scene say a Ford Transit bus, in which the students were travelling alongside other passengers, crashed head-on with a Kia Truck, resulting in the six deaths.
Mr. Patrick Afful, a tutor at the Agogo Presbyterian Training College, who confirmed the report, said information he had gathered suggested that the Kia Truck failed its break and rammed into the Ford Transit bus, which was heading to Agogo from Kumasi.
The tearful tutor, sobbing uncontrollably during the interview, said: “Six people, including the three students, lost their lives. Two of them are from my school”.
He said he and other authorities of the school, upon hearing the news, rushed to the Agogo Government Hospital, where they saw the bodies of their two female students in the morgue being prepared for autopsy.
According to him, another female student was also confirmed dead but because her injuries were very severe they could not easily identity her.
The gory accident, which has also resulted in several life-threatening injuries, happened around 8pm on Monday.
