Three persons, a man and his two teenage female friends, have died after sleeping in a room sprayed with Bextoxin, a chemical meant for getting rid of bedbugs, at Racco Down, a suburb of Accra Newtown.
They have been identified as Ibrahim Adnan, aged 26, Ama Abokyi, 16, and Love Laweh, 17.
Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mrs Afia Tenge, said at about 5:45 p.m. on June 6, 2018, the Kotobabi Police Station received information that the bodies of three persons had been found in a room of a house at Racco Down.

How it happened
Mrs Tenge said a team of policemen was immediately despatched to the scene, and information gathered at the scene indicated that a man identified only as Ben, had sprinkled Bextoxin powder in his room to kill bedbugs.
After sprinkling the substance, Ben allegedly travelled to an unknown destination to return this weekend.
On the evening of Tuesday, June 5, 2018, a friend of Ben, whose name was given as Ibrahim Adnan, went to the house with two of his female friends, Ama Abokyi and Love Laweh, and forced the door open to spend the night there.
While in the room, the three of them were believed to have inhaled the Bextoxin substance and became unconscious.
Ama was reported to have died in the compound of the house, while Ibrahim Adnan and Love Laweh were rushed to the 37 Military and Maamobi General hospitals respectively for treatment by some Good Samaritans.
While at the hospital, Ibrahim Adnan died at the Out Patient Department (OPD), while Love Laweh died shortly after she was admitted.
Bodies
The remains of the three have been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital and the Police Hospital awaiting autopsy.
Meanwhile, the tenant whose room the three persons are said to have inhaled the Bextoxin substance has still not returned from his trip.
The Bextoxin substance has been sent to the Police Forensic Department for examination.
