FOUR PEOPLE have been confirmed dead and several others are battling for their lives in various medical institutions in the Ashanti region, following a bloody accident, which happened at the outskirts of Akumadan, on the main Kumasi to Techiman busy Highway, on Sunday evening.
A Mitsubishi Pajero, with registration number GE 2845-17, with five persons on board, including two Spanish nationals, was from Gyerapa heading to Kumasi.
Upon reaching the outskirts of Akumadan, the Mitsubishi Pajero clashed head-on with an oncoming Ssangyong bus, registered AS 5628-18, from Kumasi.
The impact of the clash was deafening so it led to fire outbreak in the bus, which consequently led to one passenger being burnt into ashes in minutes.
A police report that The New Publisher has chanced upon, which confirmed the accident, said two people died later on after being rushed to a hospital.
It further said one Spanish national was among the dead persons.
Meanwhile, credible eye witnesses that live close to the accident scene, later on confirmed that another person also gave up the ghost in a hospital.
The police report said initial investigations pointed to the fact that the two drivers were driving at top speed, which may have led to the deadly crash.
