40-Acre Ganja Farm for Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson plans to open his own 40-acre cannabis resort now that weed has been officially legalised in California.
On December 20, he began construction in a remote desert near Edwards Air Force Base, in California City, CA, and was joined by business partners Robert Hickman and Jay Strommen, as well as city mayor Jennifer Wood.
The former heavy weight champion has called his project Tyson Ranch and has already started construction in a remote desert near Edwards Air Force Base, in California City Hickman told The Blast that the ‘undeveloped lands are primed to be cultivated’.
Half of the ranch will be dedicated towards cultivation facilities that ‘will allow master growers to have maximum control of their environment’, and will also feature a hydro-feed plant and supply store, extraction facilities, an edible factory, premium ‘glamping’ campgrounds and cabins, and an amphitheater.
Tyson has been a longtime believer in the healing properties of marijuana and hopes that his ranch will help with medical research surrounding the plant.
As well as teaching people how to grow and perfect their strain, Tyson also wants to help with the research surrounding the health benefits of the plant.
The 51-year-old aims to employ men and women who have served in the armed forces and even wants to open a Tyson Cultivation School, which will teach people how to produce and perfect the strains.
He hopes the ranch will create more jobs and bring the community together.
Cannabidiol – CBD for short – is one of the most common compounds found in cannabis and hemp leaves It works by binding to cell receptors in the body that effect everyday functions such as sleep and appetite, as well as pain and mood regulation CBD has been used to treat epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and chronic pain.
It is taken as oil that you drip under the tongue, but can also be consumed as gummies, or inhaled using a vape It is not psychoactive, unlike the cannabis compound Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), so CBD does not produce the “high” associated with cannabis CBD is legal to buy in the UK, but legal restrictions mean it is sold online as a food supplement, rather than a medicine.
Research is ongoing, but more investment into clinical trials is needed to explore CBD’s full potential as a medicine.
Initial trials suggest CBD may be useful in helping people stop smoking, and even lessen withdrawal symptoms from painkiller addictions CBD is used by sportsmen because of the effect it has on pain, inflammation and recovery CBD is also being trialled for its use as a potential anti-cancer agent.
California City is expecting a rise in Cannabis production since it was legalised on January 1.
