5 wanted robbers finally grabbed

SOME KNOWN hardened robbers, who have been on the police wanted-list for a long time, have finally been arrested by the police in Kumasi.

They includes Kwabena Agyei aka ‘Gangster’, 22, Muniru Issaka aka ‘Tanguani’, 18, Twumasi Desmond, 18, Moro Talata, 18 and Mohammed Mutala.

The five aforementioned robbers, according to the police, have the penchant of invading people’s homes with offensive weapons for robbery expeditions.

Several people in the city have already fallen victim to the nefarious operations of the five hoodlums but surprisingly these suspects always escaped arrest.

Luckily, after several near-misses, the Ashanti Regional Police Command teamed up with the Asuyeboa Police to finally arrest them from their hideout.

ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO, addressing the press, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended on Thursday July 8, 2021.

He said during a search two foreign pistols with 42 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 5 ‘40’ auto rounds of ammunition and seven smart phones were found on them.

ASP Ahianyo said 2 motorbikes, 32 key holders, 1 black hood, rings, necklaces, 12 wrist watches 16 keypad mobile phones and 2 speakers were also retrieved.

He indicated that the five suspects were thoroughly interrogated by the police after which they were arraigned and remanded by a court of law in Kumasi.

The police PRO pointed out that the five hardened robbers are now in lawful police custody and they are assisting the police in their investigations, so far.
