Six community Police Assistant Unit personnel in the Tafo-Pankrono District Police Command, in Kumasi, are in deep waters.
They have been accused of stabbing a suspect they had apprehended during a swoop in some known criminal dens in the Tafo-Pankrono neighborhood of the Ashanti Region.
The victim, identified only as Emmanuel, was reported to be part of a group that pelted the security agents with stones at Suame Magazine.
The stone throwing incident happened at Suame Magazine on Thursday evening and it was aimed to stop the officers from arresting some suspected hoodlums.
The Community Police Assistants, however, managed to arrest some of the boys and handed them to the police for further interrogation at the police station.
It was during the interrogation that the police realized that Emmanuel was bleeding and when he was asked, he alleged that his captors stabbed him.
The police quickly rushed him to the hospital for treatment in order to save his life. He is currently responding to treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
The six security agents, who were accused by Emmanuel for having played a role in his stabbing, were the detained to assist in investigations, a police source hinted.
