A six-year-old boy who took and ate food without the permission of his guardian has sustained severe wounds on his fingers after he was beaten severely by his uncle.
Narrating the incident that took place at Manhia in the Greater Accra Region to Joy News, the little boy, his uncle – Nicholas Kwesi – was upset by his failure to seek approval before eating the food and accused him of theft.
He admitted, in the interview with Joy News that he took the food without his guardian’s consent but said he was too hungry to wait until morning to have a meal.
He had not eaten anything since afternoon that day.
But his uncle will have none of that. When he found out about the boy’s conduct, he cut the branch of a tree, whipped the little boy’s fingers – on both hands – until they became sore.
Upon realising that the fingers had gotten swollen, the boy said his uncle boiled water and forcefully dipped them in it until it cooled.
The incident which occurred three days ago has been reported to the police who arrested Kwesi on Saturday.
They have commenced investigations into the incident.
