A Daniel Has Come To Justice!!
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, would have his name written in our history books as the Ghanaian President to have demonstrated the boldest and significant move ever in the country’s anti-corruption crusade by not only having fulfilled his promise to establish the Office of the Special Prosecutor, but appointing a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to head the dreadful office.
The President’s decision to settle on Martin Amidu came as a pleasant surprise to many. It demonstrated that issues of corruption would not be treated as business as usual under the Nana Addo led-government.
Martin Amidu is one bunch of a hard-working and principled human being. He behaves like a soldier sometimes as he is fearless and never gives up. This is a man that is immune to insults and public pressure. This is a man that lives a very simply and ordinary life and has no appetite for luxury or the pleasures of the world.
Over the decades, Amidu has demonstrated he cannot be compromised. He has demonstrated that he does not bend the rules to favour anyone, not even his bosses and party members.
This is a man that has demonstrated he makes wise judgement about situations that has proven to be a challenge to many.
THE PUBLISHER is excited about the fact that a man of such an enviable character would be heading the office of the Special Prosecutor.
We keep our fingers crossed and wait patiently for his nomination to be approved and he sworn into office so we can start to support his works.
THE PUBLISHER would not only support Martin Amidu by giving media attention to his works, but we shall be on the forefront, drawing to his attention and submitting evidence backed petitions against persons who have gotten involved in acts of conflict of interest and corrupt practices.
One of our early petitions would be on the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and the type of contracts the Authority has signed with some of its suppliers.
We would be calling on Martin Amidu to investigate how come one man is appointed as a member of the Governing Board of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), the same man is Chairman of the Entity Tender Committee of the NLA, the same man is also the external retainer lawyer for the NLA, the same man was able to get the NLA sign a worrisome 15-year contract with the NLA through sole-sourcing and the same man was able to make a cool amount of over GH₵89 Million as payment of works he did for the NLA between 2013 and 2017.
The same man, in 2016, was able to make for himself and his company, far more money than the NLA was able to make for the Consolidated Fund and strongly the same man has his contract intact with no one gathering enough patriotic courage to call for a relook at the circumstances under which the so-called contract was signed.
We congratulate Martin Amidu once again because we believe a Daniel has come to justice.
