Lawyers of Daniel Asiedu, the prime suspect in the murder trial of the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa-North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu say their client is in danger.
According to Augustines Obour, lawyer for Daniel aka “Sexxy Don Don” the suspect has been placed him in a cell with someone who is not sane and he is subjecting him to severe beating.
The lawyer told the court presided over by Justice George Buadi that his client says he is being attacked by whoever he is being detained together with.
Mr. Obour explained his client under the circumstance of being assaulted by the other inmate only pushes him away.
The lawyer further argued that “Sexxy Don Don” alleges that he was later made to sleep under a bed and his belongings taken away from him, stressing that the inmate who is insane sells drugs there.
Justice Buadi who wanted to authenticate the allegations asked the suspects’ accomplices who said he was there and saw the two of them fighting and officers took him away.
The Judge however, ordered the prison officers in court to look into the matter and ensure “Sexxy Don Don’s” clothes and food are returned to him.
Earlier, Sefakor Batse a Senior State Attorney reminded the court that at the last sitting the case was adjourned for the medical officer to be cross examined by the defense lawyer.
She recalled that the judge had ordered that a hearing notice be served on the hospital but the investigator was informed that the hospital was served but the doctor is out of the jurisdiction.
“Sexy Don Don” has denied three counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and murder, while the second accused Vincent Bosso, aka Junior Agogo pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.
Case adjourned to Nov 14.
