The body of man believed to be in his 30s has been found hanging on a 33,000-volt high tension pylon at Asokwa in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
He is suspected to have climbed the pylon to harvest eggs of some birds but got electrocuted.
The incident happened on Sunday, 3 June 2018 around 5am close to the Asokwa interchange.
People trooped to the scene to catch a glimpse of the incident.
An explosion was heard on the overhead cables, according to some of the residents who spoke to Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah. They later found the body of the deceased hanging from the pylon.
It took the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service, and the Electricity Company of Ghana two hours to get the body down from the pylon.
The deceased has not been yet identified.
