Five rooms at the first floor of a storey building at Atonsu S line in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region was on Wednesday, 31 January 2018, gutted by fire.
The inferno, which started around 5:30pm from one of the rooms spread to other rooms leading to the collapse of four tenants.
Fire fighters responded swiftly to quench the fire to prevent it from further spreading.
Tenants could not hold their tears as they lost properties amounting to thousands of Ghana cedis.
No casualties were recorded.
Some eyewitness who spoke to Class News’ regional correspondent, Elisha Adarkwa said they suspect the fire sparked from a washing machine in one of the rooms.
However, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer at the Ashanti Regional National Fire Service at Kyerapatre, ADO2 Attah Boateng said investigations have commenced to ascertain the cause of the fire.
