A/R: Man Drowns After Jumping into Well to Cool Off

A mentally unstable man believed to be in his late 40s has drowned after diving into a well to cool off.

Ibrahim Seidu, who lives at Wamase, near Kwadaso in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, was unconscious by the time residents emptied the well to remove his body.

Mother of the deceased, Madam Mary, said her son, after breakfast on Monday, 2 April, said he wanted some fresh air because he was feeling warm, only to be found dead in the well hours later.

As part of the rescue operation, residents broke part of the well, scooped the water, entered with a ladder and with the aid of a rope, pulled the body out after hours.
