ABBEY’S PARK PROJECT PROGRESSES

THE CONTRACTOR that is developing the Abbey’s Park at Ash Town in the Manhyia South Constituency, into Astro Turf facility of international standards, seems to have done well so far.

A visit to the place by THE PUBLISHER SPORTS revealed that the contractor was clearly on course to deliver to the satisfaction of the people of Ash Town and Manhyia South Constituency in general.

The old grassless pitch at Abbey’s Park had been cleared and the land had also been put in the right position for the astro turf project to take place within the coming days.

Some of the people that spoke to the paper stated that they were surprised about the speed at which the contractor was working, adding that quality work had also been produced, so far.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately called ‘Napo’, who is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, is spearheading the astro turf project.

According to him, sports promotion and development remains one of his core ambitions as a lawmaker and he sees the development of the Abbey’s Park as key to realizing his great ambition.

Napo, who is also the Minister of Education, recently announced that a certain private developer, who is impressed with his (Napo’s) delivery, decided to construct the pitch to support him (Napo).

According to the Manhyia South Lawmaker, he also has concrete plans to construct similar astro turf facility at Dichemso, which is also in the Manhyia South Constituency to help promote sports.
