Multiple-award winning Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Abeiku Aggrey Santana, has been officially appointed as an Ambassador for the National COVID-19 Trust Fund, by the Governing Board of Trustees of the Fund.
Abeiku Santana’s role as Ambassador would be to use his public figure influence, celebrity status, highly respected personality and clouts within the Ghanaian media and socioeconomic space to raise funds to augment government’s efforts at fighting the COVID pandemic.
Mr. Abeiku Santana, currently with Okay 101.7 FM in Accra was the very first person to be employed at the station when it started operations some 10 years ago. He has worked as a broadcast journalist since 1997 after his national service with National Archives, Public Records Department in 1996.
Abeiku Santana is a chartered Tourism Destination Management Executive who consults tourism organizations and institutions across Africa. Aside radio, he is Chief Executive of Kaya Tours and Bays Lodge.
In 2016, he was announced as a Tourism Ambassador for Ghana and in 2017, he was listed in top 100 Tourism personalities in West Africa by Balafon Awards West Africa Committee of Experts.
Congratulatory messages and pledges of support from corporate Ghana, the clergy fraternity. and some of the big names in the business class as well as footballers have started pouring in after the appointment of Abeiku Santana was reported in the media.
