ABORTION DOCTOR GRABBED IN K’SI

A QUACK medical doctor in Kumasi, whose stock in trade is to abort pregnancies for a fee, is now in hot waters.

‘Dr’ Samuel Boateng is said to have aborted an uncountable number of pregnancies for several women even though he didn’t have the license to do so.

Unfortunately, some of his clients reportedly developed serious complications, many of which required immediate medical care to survive.

‘Dr’ Boateng, believed to be 45 years old, had indulged in the illegal act for sometime now, until luck finally eluded him last week.

Acting upon a tip-off, the police arrested him at the Sophia General Maternity Clinic at Esereso, a facility he inherited from his late step-mother.

Boateng had dug a manhole in his clinic where he usually dumped foetuses and other unsanitary instruments he had used for his abortions, police said.

Corporal Prince Dogbatse, the deputy PRO for the Ashanti Regional Police Command, described the arrest as important and urged the public to shun quack doctors.

He also entreated the public to supply the police with vital information that will lead to the arrest of such people in order to sanitize the medical arena.
