Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has offered his support to Loris Karius.
Having left Napoli for AC Milan this week, Reina was asked about Liverpool’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.
He told AS: “It was a balanced game until (Mohamed) Salah’s injury, there the Reds got lost. But Real deserved to win it for its consistency.”
On Karius, Reina added: “I would tell him that I lived worse nights (laughs). Our work is done this way: now we must look forward, even if it will be difficult.”
The Spaniard also revealed he never planned to leave Anfield for Napoli.
“I was at Liverpool, I was about to renew and I was not going to leave. Then Simon Mignolet arrived and Rafa’s (Benitez) project was a great opportunity.”
