Accra Mall Yet to Release Report on Collapse ceiling

Things seem to have picked up since the partial collapse of the ceiling of the Accra mall on October 11 this year.

THE PUBLISHER, in a follow-up on the incident, yesterday visited the Mall and noted that some normalcy had returned to the place.

“We have not come out to the public because we are still carrying out investigations. Once the reports are ready, we will do a major Press release and invite the media to ask any question they want”, said Denise Asare, Marketing Manager of the mall.

She observed that customers seem pleased with the way management had handled the issue so far.

An employee of an Apple store in the Mall said the incident had left her with a lingering traumatic experience. She also noted that sales had plummeted since the incident.

The Manager of Electronics Hub, Daniel Sarpong, and an employee at Ashfoam shared the same sentiments regarding sales, but Samuel Ati of Huawei said management needs to check the entire building to restore public confidence.

Ajoa, a regular costumer of Shoprite, said though she still comes to shop at the mall, she gets out as quickly as possible.

Baby, a passerby, said she hadn’t been at the mall for a while but only passed through yesterday to see how things were going.

It is recalled that part of the ceiling of a hallway at the Mall collapsed a fortnight ago, injuring three people.

The cause of the crash is yet to be made public.
