Aduana Will Offer Me New Challenges — Adams
Newly-signed Aduana Stars defender Hafiz Adams has said he had no difficulty in settling on the Premier League champions as the best place to continue his career after taking the decision to leave Wa All Stars.
Adams officially signed a three-year deal with the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League Champions over the weekend after one-week of fruitful talks with the Dormaa Ahenkro-based side.
He told the Graphic Sports that playing in the CAF Champions League next season provided him with an exciting challenge and so with the expiry of his contract with the former champions, Aduana was the next logical choice for him having admired their progress over the last two seasons.
“It was easy joining Aduana Stars, I have been monitoring them and they have been a great team for the past years with players who always to win games,” Adams told Graphic Sports.
“Aduana Stars have for the past two seasons been on fire, they finished second to my former club in the 2015/16 season and this season they won the league. They have proven to be consistent.”
The defender acknowledges that breaking into Coach Yusif Abubakar’s team and holding down a regular position would not come without a lot of hard work.
“It is a big challenge for me and though I know it will not be easy, I am ever ready for it. All I need is to do my best for the team; this is a new environment and a fresh challenge. I am ready to cement my place in the team,” he added.
At Aduana, Adams is expected to battle Emmanuel Akuoku, Wahab and Anokye Badu for one of the centre-back positions.
One of the Premier League’s most outstanding defenders over the last five seasons, Adams has been courted by top sides like Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak but All Stars held onto their prized asset.
