AFCON U-23Q: Ghana draws 1-1 at home to Algeria
Black Meteors captain Yaw Yeboah penalty missed from the spot in the first half resulted in Ghana being held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the U-23 AFCON qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Algerians took the lead against the run of play in the first department.
Four minutes later, Ghana had the opportunity to draw level from the penalty spot but Yaw Yeboah’s effort floated high over the bar.
Back from recess, the Black Meteors mounted pressure on the Algerians which paid off on the 65th when Yaw Yeboah was brought down.
The return leg comes off on Tuesday, September 10 in Algiers.
