Afenyo-Markin retained as MP for Effutu

Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has retained the Effutu parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He won the race 33, 564 votes.

His challenger, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) James Kofi Annan polled 18, 802.

Concerning the Presidency, Afenyo-Markin managed with 32, 396 for the party whiles the NDC had little over 19, 000.

Over 17 million Ghanaians headed to the polls yesterday, Monday, December 7, 2020, to decide whether or not the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will be Ghana’s President for another four-year term with 275 parliamentary contests  as well.

President Akufo-Addo is facing keen competition from the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, who served as Ghana’s President from 2012 to 2016.

Apart from Akufo-Addo and Mahama, there are 10 other candidates in the presidential race.
