Bethel Revival Choir, an award-winning Gospel Music Ministry has once again hit another huge milestone in their music career.
The group, which has become the toast of many music lovers, has grabbed a nomination at the 2019 edition of the All Africa Music Awards(AFRIMAs).
They have been nominated in the Best Gospel act of the year category alongside Diana Hamilton – Ghana, Frank Edwards – Nigeria, Gloria Muliro – Kenya, Papa Dennis – Kenya, Miguel Buila – Angola, Icha Kavons – Congo, Willy Paul – Kenya, Mercy Chinwo – Nigeria and Winnie Mashaba – South Africa.
Expressing their excitement in an interview, the group indicated; “This is an honor and we are grateful. This shows our work has been recognized on the continent and we moving to higher heights in our career.
”We are so grateful to God, to our amazing leaders, fans and everyone.” they added.
The AFRIMA 2019 nomination comes after the group was recently awarded as the overall Best Music Group of the year at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
It was the first time a Gospel Group won that category since the past 20 years the award has been in existence.
Before the VGMA, Bethel Revival Choir had won three categories at the 2019 edition of the 3 Music Awards.
It won Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Act of the Year and Best Group of the Year.
The Choir is under the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), a vibrant Bible-believing Church that believes in the full manifestation of the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Though the Bethel Revival Choir has been ministering for some ten years now, the group gained mainstream recognition after the release of their second album titled ‘Akpe’ in 2018.
‘Akpe’ is a 15-track classic album with songs such as the popular ‘Agbadza Gospel Medley’ and ‘Vovome’ featuring Joe Mettle. It has other songs such as ‘Mawu Ana’ among others.
The group has a unique way of picking old traditional Ghanaian Christian songs and reproducing them with a contemporary flavor.
The award show will take place in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, 26th of October, 2019 and will honour some of the world’s top African celebrities, artistes, artistes’ managers, producers, video directors, DJs and cultural influences.
AFRIMMA is the sole award ceremony in the Diaspora that caters for all musical genres but not limited to Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Hiplife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.
This year’s edition of AFRMMA is the 6th and promises to be the biggest edition of the biggest African music awards show in Diaspora.
