AFRIMA 2019: Ghana bags six nominations
All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has unveiled its full list of nominees for the 6th edition of the awards. The nominees’ list comprises of 10 Regional Categories and 26 Continental Categories.
Rapper Sarkodie is leading the chart with two nominations for Ghana – Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Hip Hop and Best African Rapper/Lyricist – for ‘Biibi Ba’ ft. LJ, Tulenkey, Frequency, K. Mole, ToyBoi, Yeyo.
Stonebwoy secured a nomination for his song ‘Tuff Seed’, while Shatta Wale also received a nomination for his hit song ‘My Level’.
The event which will be held from November 20 – 23 also has Guiltybeatz, Mr Eazi and Kwesi Arthur as nominees for their song ‘Pilolo’ in the category Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Electro.
Kuami Eugene has also been nominated in the African Fans Favourite category for his song ‘Ohemaa’ ft Kidi.
Video director REX has also been nominated in the Best African Video category for his work on Kuami Eugene’s ‘Ohemaa’ ft KiDi.
According to organizers, the online voting platform is set to open to the public on Sunday, September 1 and will run till November 22, where both continental and regional nominees in the 36 AFRIMA awarding categories will compete against one another for the coveted 23.9 carats gold-plated AFRIMA Trophy.
Nominees will depend on their fans and followers spread across the globe to vote for them in an open voting process via the AFRIMA website, www.afrima.org
The 2019 AFRIMA ceremony will hold a four-day fiesta of music, glamour, Afrocentricism and entertainment in the official awards Host City which will commence with the Welcome Soiree followed by the AFRIMA Music Village, the Host City Tour, the Africa Music Business Summit, the exclusive Nominees Party and concludes with the live Awards Ceremony.
