Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agona East Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Queenstar Maamee Pokuah Sawyer, has come to the rescue of some basic schools that needed some levels of intervention to facilitate proper teaching and learning.
The schools, which were in dire need of roofing sheets, cement bags and other building materials for the completion of their school building, had their needs met.
Hon. Saywer, who just had a successful tour of the constituency, presented three packets of roofing sheets and 20 bags of cement for the completion of a three-unit classroom block at the Agona Kwanyako SDA Primary School.
The MP, together with her team, then moved to Agona Asafo, where she donated fifty dual desks to the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC) Basic School.
Kwansakrom AEDA primary and Otwakwaa AEDA primary also got 30 dual desks each, while the Mensakrom Islamic school received five computers and accessories upon the request of the Mensakrom chiefs.
The headmasters and the entire teaching body of the schools that benefitted from the gestures could not hide their joy, and expressed immersed gratitude to the MP.
This is not the first time the Agona East MP had been involved in such interventions.
In April this year, it was reported that she went to the aid of some students of the Kwanyarko Secondary Technical School who could not register for their WASSCE examinations.
