The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has led a Ghanaian delegation to this year’s TECHAGRO fair in the Czech Republic to learn at first hand, best practices and seek collaboration in various areas of the Agric sector to help improve food production and food security.
The TECHAGRO 2018 which is to showcase innovations and technology in the agricultural sector, opened on Sunday at Brno in the Czech Republic.
In all, 732 exhibitors from European countries are showcasing their cutting edge technology in agriculture and the agricultural value chain.
At display are heavy to light duty agricultural machineries, the latest farming technology and innovations as well as the modern processing methods of farm products.
Graphic Online’s Severious Kale-Dery and Dominic Moses Awiah who are at the fair reports that also on display are modern storage and preservation methods of food stuff and processed food items, display of animals and how they are kept as well as animal products.
The annual fair provides an opportunity for the exchange of technology and technical know-how and a fertile ground to learn from Best practices.
The Minister is also using the opportunity to market government’s flagship Agric programme, Planting for Food and Jobs to the international community and is seeking collaboration as well as investment in the area.
