FORMER KUMASI Asante Kotoko star, Akakpo Patron, is heavily tipped to be appointed as Kotoko’s deputy coach.
The porcupine warriors want to beef up their technical bench so they are searching for a coach to play the role of a deputy trainer. Sources say he would be assisting the head coach, Steve Polack, who was recently given a one-year contract extension.
Kotoko, reliable sources have hinted, recently invited and interviewed three people for the position, and PUBLISHER SPORTS is reliably informed that Akakpo impressed the most during the interview so is it likely he would be given the job.
Management is expected to name the new deputy trainer today (Friday) in Kumasi, but even before that announcement is made, word going round the rumour mill say it is a done deal for Patron.
Akakpo Patron currently works as the deputy trainer for fellow premiership club, WAFA FC.
