Akpaloo Campaigns For NAPO
LEADER OF the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has described the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as one of the finest lawmakers ever produced in the country.
He has therefore entreated members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency to retain the MP, who is popularly known as ‘Napo’, in political circles, during the upcoming parliamentary polls in 2020.
According to him, Napo’s reign as MP had resulted in the massive transformation of the Manhyia South constituency and the country at large.
Akpaloo also said Napo’s extraordinary works at the Education Ministry, which led to the smooth implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) is an indication that he is a national asset.
“From the first day that Napo entered parliament he has proven beyond every reasonable doubt that he is one of the finest MPs ever produced in Ghana. His contributions on the floor of parliament are some of the best.
“Also, at the Ministry of Education, Napo has performed magic to help bring the famous free SHS programme into fruition and such a person is clearly a national asset, who must be protected so the country continues to benefit from him”.
Akpaloo, who was speaking on radio, said Ghana’s infant democracy would progress immensely if competent, intelligent, patriotic and hard-working MPs like Napo stayed in the august House for a long time.
“The NPP leadership in the Ashanti region should know that Napo is a national asset now so they must do everything possible to protect him to enable him stay in parliament to render more services towards Ghana’s growth”.
Aside Napo, Akpaloo said other experienced MPs like Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Suame NPP MP and Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, Asawase NDC MP, should also be protected to stay in parliament.
The LPG leader opined that the country would not develop as expected if experienced lawmakers leave the House prematurely.
