Akua Donkor Dead

The Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor has passed away. Confirming her death, Ernest Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Adakabre, disclosed details surrounding her passing during an appearance on TV3’s morning show, New Day.

According to him, Akua Donkor faced respiratory issues before her passing, having been initially diagnosed at the Nsawam Hospital.

Adakabre, who served as Akua Donkor’s running mate in the 2020 presidential election, shared that she was subsequently transferred to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, where she ultimately passed away.

Adding to the validity of the reports, her youngest daughter, Mary Donkor, recounted the event, explaining that they arrived at Ridge Hospital around 1:30 a.m. “She was immediately rushed into the theater,” Mary stated.

“The doctors tried to identify the cause of her health issue, but during the process, her heart stopped. They moved her to the ICU to attempt to revive her. We provided everything necessary for her treatment, but unfortunately, it was in vain. Around 10 p.m., the doctors confirmed her passing.”

Akua Donkor’s death on Monday, October 28, 2024, quickly went viral on social media, with a significant outpouring of condolences from the public and expressions of grief from her supporters and admirers. Her sudden passing left many Ghanaians searching for answers, as there had been no prior public indication of her health struggles.

Akua Donkor made a lasting impact on Ghanaian politics.
