Akufo-Addo Tasks Three Ministries to Address Poor Roads

President Akufo-Addo says he has instructed the ministries of the Interior, Roads, and Highways, and Transport to draw proposals to improve road safety.

His charge posted on his Facebook account Tuesday follows the tragic accident in the Ashanti Region last week Thursday which claimed the lives of popular dancehall star Ebony Reigns, her friend, and a soldier.

“I am very concerned about the recent spate of road accidents, and the ensuing deaths and injuries. I have asked the Ministers for the Interior, Roads and Highways, and Transport to meet and come out with proposals immediately, to address this critical issue in order to improve the safety of our roads”, he said.

Barely a week after that accident, six persons were reported dead in a motor accident during a heavy downpour in the capital Accra.
