President Akufo-Addo will visit the People’s Republic of China on Friday, August 31, 2018.The visit is expected to deepen relationship between the two states.
The President would, during the visit, hold bilateral engagements with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, on economic relations between the two countries. This was confirmed by the Information Minister-designate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at a press briefing held in the capital.
Some eight Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)in the areas of infrastructure, education, health and ‘smart cities’ are expected to be signed between China and Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo would also lead a business delegation to participate in a Business Forum in the Chandong Province of China.
He would also attend the Forum on China-Africa Corporation (FOCAC) which would be attended by 40 heads of state from Africa who have signed up to Continental Free Trade Area to discuss infrastructure, power, education and industry on the continent.
