ALAN KYEREMANTEN has pledged to consult the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for advice when elected as President of Ghana.
The former Trade and Industry Minister, who is contesting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag-bearer position, made the declaration in Kumasi on Monday.

“When I am elected as NPP flagbearer and I eventually become the president, I will consult Otumfuo for advice on pressing national issues”, he indicated.
Alan Kyeremanten described the Asantehene as an embodiment of wisdom, disclosing that Otumfuo helped him to become successful as a minister.
According to him, Otumfuo played significant roles, behind the scenes, which contributed to make the government’s One District One Factory (1D1F) policy a success.
Alan Kyeremanten said apart from offering key advice to him, the Asantehene has also set up a mango juice factory under the 1D1F programme of government.
Still on the Asantehene’s support for him, he said Otumfuo played key roles in the citing of Accra as the headquarters of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.
Alan Kyeremanten informed the Asantehene that he has resigned from his position as the minister of trade and industry to pursue his presidential ambition.
He passionately appealed to Otumfuo to bless him so that his heart desire of becoming the president of Ghana under the NPP ticket in 2024 would become a reality.
According to him, his late father Dr. Kyeremanten, faithfully served Asanteman and Ghana and that he would replicate his father’s extraordinary works.
“If I am elected as president, I will not disappoint you”, he assured the Asantehene, noting that he is determined to lead the country into affluence as president.
In response, the Asantehene blessed Alan Kyeremanten in his bid to become the president, saying “you are a gentleman so campaign devoid of insults”.
Otumfuo said he was aware that some top NPP members were contesting for the party’s flag-bearer position, pointing out that “God will crown the eventual winner”.
