Nicknamed as ‘Alan Cash’ in the political circles, he made the cash donation to reduce the financial burden on the affected traders, who virtually lost their source livelihoods
The inferno, reportedly, consumed about 50 shops and all the valuable items and goods that were being stored in them.

According to him, after touring the market, he has realized that indeed some of the market women have lost all their wares and goods so they needed to be supported.
Alan Kyeremanten, who was being followed by a large number of supporters, stated that measures should be put in place to prevent fire outbreaks in the market in future.
According to him, traders and all patrons of the Kejetia Market should all contribute their quota in order to prevent the reoccurrence of such disaster in the market.
He also said the traders, especially the victims of the fire outbreak, should put their trust in government, adding that the fire would be well probed and right measures implemented.
