ALAN: I’ll lead NPP into historic victory in 2024

A flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alan Kyerematen has said if voted for to become the presidential candidate of the party, he will ensure a victory for the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

He said Ghana will experience a new era of stability, growth, and prosperity

“By the grace of God, I will lead this great party (NPP) into historic Victory in December 2024 and usher into Ghana, a new era of stability, growth, and prosperity. So help me God,” the former Trade Minister tweeted.

Mr Kyerematen has filed his nomination forms to contest the NPP primaries this year.

He was joined by current and former Members of Parliament as well as some party bigwigs at the NPP Headquarters in Accra on Monday, June 12 to file the nominations.

By the gesture, the former Ghana Ambassador to the United States of America becomes the first flagbearer hopeful to file his nominations.

The NPP opened nominations on Friday, May 26 with aspirant given up to Saturday, June 24 to submit forms.

So far, 10 of them including Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia have picked forms to contest the party’s presidential primaries.

Mr Kyerematen asked for one thing from the National Elections Committee when he submitted his forms on Monday.

“The only guarantee for us to be able to win and ascend to power to succeed ourselves in 2024 will be for us to have free, fair and transparent elections,” he noted.

“So, whilst commending you for the work that you’ve done so far in the processes leading to the filing of nominations, I will encourage you and hope that you will do all in your power and authority to ensure that you guarantee free, fair and transparent elections for our party.”

Among MPs who joined Alan Kyerematen on Monday are Minister for Railways Development John-Peter Amewu, who represents Hohoe Constituency in Parliament, and Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei Asare, who represents Atewa East Constituency in Parliament.
