Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan has signed a two-year deal with Serie A side Venezia FC.
The 31-year-old was acquired by the club following his successful stint at Fiorentina. Excitement about the move was expressed by Duncan, with the club’s ambitious project cited as a key factor in his decision.
“I chose to come to Venezia FC because of the project that was presented to me by the club and the coach and I am really proud to be part of it. In past years I have been shown how it is never easy to play at the Penzo because of the energy of the fans. That’s why I ask all of them to always support us because we will give everything to get to the goal,” Duncan told Venezia media.
With extensive Serie A experience, having played for clubs like Inter Milan, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Cagliari, and Fiorentina, Duncan brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to Venezia.
A wealth of knowledge and skill is expected to be contributed by him to Venezia, and he is anticipated to be a key player for the club as they aim to make their mark in the upcoming season.
The youth ranks at Inter produced Duncan, who has accumulated 304 appearances, 14 goals, and 17 assists in Serie A. Previous stints at Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Cagliari, and Fiorentina are included in his career.
At the international level, Ghana has been represented by Duncan 10 times. Participation in the Conference League and Europa League qualifiers and finals is also part of his experience.
His contract with Fiorentina, where he scored two goals and provided five assists in 41 matches last season, had expired before he joined Venezia.
