AMA Warns Churches Over Noise Making
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), has asked all churches, mosques and other religious bodies to desist from making noise when the ban on noise making starts.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the AMA, Gilbert Nii Ankrah, dated Thursday May 10 said : “The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) wishes to inform all residents in its jurisdiction that this year’s ban on drumming and noise making commences from 14th May to 14th June 2018.
“It has therefore set the following guideline in the interest of peace, harmony and national security; during the period of the ban the usual form of worship should be confined to the premises of churches/mosques and noise levels be minimised to the barest limit possible.
“The positioning of loud speakers outside the premises of church, mosques and pubs are banned. Roadside evangelists are to cease their activities during this period.”
