SELECTION OF players to be part of the Ghana National Amputee Team is underway, ahead of a three-nation friendly tournament in the United Kingdom (UK).
The various amputee football clubs in the country have been told to produce three registered players to begin a non-residential training from July 7th to 16th, 2022.
Players who would live up to expectation during the 10 days training at the Accra Sports Stadium, would join the final team to the tournament, which starts from July 29th to 31st.
The host country, England and Poland are the other two participating teams for the short tournament. It is to help prepare the three teams for international tournaments.
A statement, signed by Samson Deen, President, Ghana Paralympic Committee, said his outfit, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Sports Authority wants to revive amputee football in the country.
He therefore announced that the three aforementioned bodies have approved for the national amputee team to participate in the three-nation tournament in the UK.
Samson Deen urged the various teams to provide the names, date of birth, phone number and a copy of passport (biometric page) of the players to facilitate their travel.
