Anti-Robbery Task Forces Escape Attack
A task force to help curb robberies and other crimes in the Suame Municipality recently came under attack from a group of young men who stones at them while they were of official patrol duties.
Sensing great danger, the task force sped away in their patrol vehicles as the bandits pelted the car with stones.
Even though none of the task force personnel was hurt, the windscreen of the car they use for the patrol duties was damaged.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suame, Dr. Osei Bobie, disclosed the unpleasant development on radio.
He condemned the weird action of the criminals, who he said, usually operate under darkness in Suame Magazine.
Dr. Bobie lamented over the reported cases of robbery in the Suame Municipality, especially in Suame Magazine.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, he speculated that some squatters in Suame Magazine were the brain behind the robberies in the area.
Dr. Bobie said the Assembly is determined to end the illegal activities of the hoodlums in the area once-and-for-all.
In line with this ambitious move, he said a special task force has been formed and equipped to patrol the area.
