MORE THAN 200 people in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi over the weekend benefited from a successful free health screening exercise.
The health screening which was organized by Anwiam Clinic saw a huge number of patrons at the venue. The exercise by the top private medical institution was done at the premises of Luv Fm and that of the Kumasi Mall.
Head of the day-to-day administration of Anwiam Clinic, Dr. Kwaku Duah Boakye, expressed gratitude to the huge number of patrons present for the screening exercise.
He said the people were screened in Hypertension, Body Mass Index (BMI), Diabetes, Eye and other ailments for free by his medical institution.
According to him, the exercise formed part of his outfit’s corporate social responsibilities, and it is also aimed to boost the health status of the people.
The leading private medical institution also used the grand occasion to organize a blood donation exercise to help boost healthcare delivery in the region.
Dr. Duah Boakye expressed worry about situations whereby people usually visited the hospital with their ailments at advanced stages, which was difficult to treat.
According to him, Anwiam Clinic has therefore decided to frequently organize free health screening exercise in the city to enable citizens know more about their health status.
Dr. Duah Boakye said Saturday’s health screening exercise would not be a nine-day wonder, saying “we shall repeat this laudable exercise in 6 months time”.
He entreated the populace to exercise their bodies and eat correctly so that they would not fall sick and become liability to the country.
