Apesemakahene Wants More Jobs For Youth
The Apesemakahene of Mampong Akwiapim, Nana Yirenkyi I, has urged government speed up in fulfilling its promise to create employment and job opportunities for the youth.
He said the lacks of jobs for the youth is the root cause of a chunk of the country poverty rate, social vices and to a large extent crime rate.
Nana Apesemakahene has therefore called on government to factor the development of the youth in its programs and policies so as to build a strong human resource base for the future.
Nana Yirenkyi I, who has youth development as a top priority, indicated that the future of Ghana lies in the hands of the youth hence government ought to ensure their development.
He said this when he addressed a youth gathering in Akwiapim to commemorate his second year anniversary as Apesemakahene of the area.
Apesemakahene said he will continue to advocate for a better conditions and government policies for the youth and he would take into account specific projects that would inure to the benefit of the youth in his area.
Nana Yirenkyi I also urged politicians to create job opportunities for the youth and stop giving them tokens of money to entice them to do things that will not help the nation.
He also said the spate of armed robbery and social vices are on the increase and that government should look at creating enabling environment for business growth, and empower the youth so as not to engage themselves in such social vices.
He thanked all who supported him in his enstoolment and pledged his continuous dedication to the services of Mampong and to the progress of the youth in Ghana.
