The Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) has expressed disappointment over comments made by Actor, Kofi Adjorlolo for saying Ghanaian movie producers owe him several monies.
This comes after the actor in a viral video in which he was being interviewed by Joy News’ Ibrahim Ben-Bako strongly criticized Ghanaian movie producers for their unfair treatment, hinting that they are the reason some of the country’s actors are dying poor.
“Producers in Ghana here, they should respect themselves…old man like me, they call me to come and work and they can’t pay me… About seven producers in this country owe me moneys…why? And then I’m sitting at home, I’m hungry, and then when I’m sick too nobody pays attention… Look, we have elderly people lying down on their sickbeds and these producers owe them,” he revealed.
“Actors in Ghana here know what I’m talking about, these producers don’t pay!” he stressed.
However responding to the claims, FIPAG President, James Aboagye in a statement said they have not been brought to the known with regards to the issue.
”FIPAG has never received any of such complaints from him nor ever had the opportunity to learn it from any quarters. It is however mind-boggling as to why he behaved the way he did in the said interview with his failure to back his claims with any tangible fact” – part of the statement reads.
The association has therefore advised him to apologise within 14 days or face possible sanctions.
“FIPAG hereby deems it fit for him to render an unqualified apology to film producers and the industry within fourteen (14) days.Failure to do so would see the Association advice itself on his status and positioning in the film industry”.

Kofi Adjololo’s Outburst Against Some Film Producers
Our attention has been drawn to a recent interview granted by Mr. Kofi Adjololo to Ibrahim Brako of Joy Prime, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group Ltd.
In the said interview, Mr. Adjololo alleged that some movie producers owe him some money and therefore, decided to descend heavily on film producers without naming a single producer.
His conduct has cast a slur on film producers in the country and for that matter, the film industry. His attitude and that of some individuals are bringing the name of the industry into disrepute.
FIPAG has never received any of such complaints from him nor ever had the opportunity to learn it from any quarters. It is however mind-boggling as to why he behaved the way he did in the said interview.
With his failure to back his claims with any tangible fact, FIPAG hereby deems it fit for him render an unqualified apology to film producers and the industry within fourteen (14) days.Failure to do so would see the Association advice itself on his status and positioning in the film industry.
In that regard, FIPAG is hereby issuing a strong warning to groups or individuals in the industry who have made it their business to slander the industry anytime the opportunity is given to them to talk on the state of the Ghanaian film industry.
Signed
James Aboagye
(FIPAG President)
