THE ACTION People’s Party (APP) has launched a programme dubbed ‘Agenda 275’ to boost the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
As part of the programme, which has been applauded by most of the citizenry, the APP would construct one modern ICT center in all the 275 constituencies in the country.
Setting the ball rolling, the leadership of APP, which is a newly formed political party, cut the sod for the construction of a new ICT center at Nkawie Panin in the Ashanti Region.
Located at the Nkawie Panin M/A JHS in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality, the ICT center project is being financed by the APP, founded by Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah.
In his address during the sod-cutting ceremony, Nana Kwame Asamoah pointed out that ICT is driving the world now, especially in these modern times, so the need to promote it.
He said his political party has decided to use their resources and energy to help make the learning of ICT available to every Ghanaian school-going children to improve their future.
According to the APP leader and founder, the newly constructed ICT centers would also boast of a library room and other amenities to make its patrons feel comfortable to learn.
Nana Kofi Asante, the Chief Linguist of Nkawie Panin and Ernest Atta Gyamfi, who represented the Municipal Education Director, lauded the APP for their passion to promote education in the state.
