Appiah Backs Sallah For Africa Best

GHANA HEAD Coach, Akwasi Appiah, has tipped Mohamed Sallah of Egypt to be crowned as Africa Best footballer for 2017.

He said Sallah has been brilliant for his country, Egypt and his club, Liverpool, in the English Premier League, this season. He further recounted that Sallah played an important role which helped Egypt qualify for the Russia 2018 World Cup.

According to him, Sallah managed five goals and assisted twice to help Egypt to snatch the solitary slot in their group, which also included Ghana.

Apart from that Appiah thinks the Egyptian had been the ‘star man’ for Liverpool this season, where he scored an avalanche of goals.

The Black Stars trainer, sounding a bit biased, however, added that it was his wish that a Ghanaian player would be shortlisted for the crown.

Concluding, Appiah said Sallah has been a standout player on the continent this season and duly deserves the best player crown.
