Relationship and marriage counselor, George Lutterodt says musician Wanlov the Kuborlor should be arrested for publicly advocating for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights in Ghana.
Counselor Lutterodt suggestion follows the musician wading into the debate on the opening of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Rights in Ghana.
Speaking on Peace FM last Saturday, the self acclaimed Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the LGBT association said there are more crucial issues in the country that needs to be dealt with than the existence of an LGBT office in the country.
“It’s not their kissing that creates potholes or creates dumsor. I don’t understand why we are angry with them. It’s not their fault. I support them because I don’t see why the laws in Ghana oppress that particular group. They are humans just like anybody” – he said.
Reacting to this on Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’ hosted by Halifax Ansah-Addo on Monday morning, Lutterodt said “the government of Ghana should arrest Wanlov the Kuborlor because the laws in the country is against the act. He went there to help them launch what is a crime. He was invited there to come and sing – as any artist, you’ve been invited to an event of such nature, so when arm robbers come together, murderers come together, you can go there to sing, is that what we should promote?
“After they ask you on radio, he said now he speaks for them. The laws of the land are that, the act of LGBT is illegal. The people are establishing an illegal office and you’re invited to perform at the inauguration of such office. The establishment of the office in the first place is wrong. If we can’t find the location of the office, Wanlow is a public known person, he should be arrested. Their news can be everywhere but Wanlow who is an instrument part of us by his music testifying that, he speaks for them as an unofficial PRO is wrong.”
